p.s. Getting to the closing table was a master class in tenacity. We were doggedly trying to stave off X number of shady deals from equally shady "investors" who offered "creative financing" with terms that were, at a minimum, "disadvantageous" to my seller. One such spurious deal had a clause stating they'd be entitled to filing a "Notice of Interest" against the home's title (thereby creating a cloud on title that would be impossible to remove without their permission, and binding the seller to their terms, even if they couldn't go through with deal).Â
Ever seen a movie where the heroine was backed into a corner trying to stave off wolves with a torch? It was kind of like that. Just when I thought there was no hope left..
...here comes the cavalry!
Enter the amazing Carol Blackmon with eXp Realty, who appeared with a solid offer that worked for both parties. Fair, agreeable and solution-oriented doesn't begin to describe how fantastic this was. We were all smiles--and a few happy tears--around that closing table because of her efforts.
Special shout-out to Becca, Lola and Patty at Atlas Title Solutions in Pendleton. Â We know how hard you worked--and how late you stayed at the office--to get that settlement statement balanced.
Thank you for your professionalism, wisdom and grace.
We couldn't have done it without you!Â
p.s. If you have a house to sell and are getting hounded by these "creative-financing" morally bankrupt equity thieves, and need a little help, call me.
Seriously.
